Unifying Tech & Business Through Event Storming
In many organizations, one challenge persists: Business and tech speak different languages. Event Storming changes that. It’s a fast‑paced, collaborative technique that brings both sides together to uncover how a domain really works – without jargon, heavy documentation or thousand of meetings. In this session, you’ll get a crisp overview of the Event Storming approach and why it’s uniquely effective at creating shared understanding across disciplines. We’ll explore how mapping domain events helps business experts express what truly matters, while giving engineers the clarity they need to design solutions.

Database Query Optimization in PostgreSQL: Execution Plans & Performance Tuning
Databases are a central component of many business processes and are used by different stakeholders. Inefficient database queries often lead to long execution times and impair application's performance. The goal of this workshop is to teach participants how to systematically analyze and optimize database queries using PostgreSQL as an example. This should improve overall system performance and lead to more efficient business processes. To improve performance of database queries, a basic understanding is required of how a database plans and executes a query. In our workshop, participants will interactively learn how to interpret and analyze execution plans of database queries. Using practical examples, strategies for improving query performance will be developed and discussed together. Various techniques and best practices for query optimization will be presented. The workshop does not focus solely on the use of indexes, but also shows how database queries are processed and which parameters influence overall performance.
